Post Office Protesters Pass The Parcel

November 1st 2007

A small crowd gathered in the Cornmarket on Thursday night for a demonstration against the proposed Post Office closures in Louth. They held a game of Pass the Parcel, and each time the music stopped one of the services provided by the Post Offices in Louth was revealed.

Patrick Purves provided bagpipe music to accompany the event.

Campaigners are angry about plans by Post Office Ltd to close Newmarket Post Office and Brackenborough Road Post Office, located at opposite ends of the town. These branches are due to close in January unless the plans are changed. If both closures go ahead, Louth would be left with just one Post Office in Northgate.
