Runners taking part in Louth's annual Run For Louth faced temperatures of up to 27°C. In spite of the heat the event was well attended, with many people turning up in fancy dress. This included the mayor and mayoress, who ran the course dressed in their robes of office.

The junior course for under 12's was a 1 km course that took place at 10 am. This was followed by the women's race at 10.30, and the men's at 11.45.

The senior course involved a 5 kilometre run, beginning and ending in the Cornmarket and taking in Hubbard's Hills.

The women's event was won by Harriet Hatton, pictured top left, with a time of 18 minutes 30 seconds. Anne Meiwald was the runner up in this event.
