2007 Christmas Craft Market

December 2nd 2007

Hannah Moffat opens the market
Louth's 2007 Christmas Craft Market was opened by Look North presenter Hannah Moffat. In spite of some heavy rain the event was well attended. This year the market also took place in the Town Hall car park as well as in Mercer Row and the Cornmarket, allowing space for extra stalls. Hannah's speech was followed by songs from the pupils of Kidgate School.

Many people turned out in costume to promote the market or to publicise other events. Pictured left is one of the people who was publicising the forthcoming production of Dick Whittington for Louth Playgoers.

Pictured on the right are the stallholders of Castleford Cake Box, who came all the way from Castleford, West Yorkshire for the market. They were one of a number of stalls that donned Victorian clothing or other costumes for the day.

Even the bernese mountain dogs were dressed for the occasion, pulling sleighs and wearing tinsel. Not pictured but also present were the Greyhound Trust and Louth Search Dogs.

Entertainment was provided by local band Southbase, Pedro the Clown, Father Christmas and others.
